Speaking during a church service captured in a recent YouTube video, Adeboye said he intentionally avoided discussing national issues at length, stressing that prayer remains the ultimate solution in difficult times. He then revealed that the widely expected January 11 start date for RCCG’s fasting would not happen. “If we’re going to fast, we won’t begin on January 11. They are waiting for us—we will disappoint them,” he said, adding that the duration of the fast would also be kept secret. Adeboye urged members to remain consistent in prayer and declared divine surprises and blessings over worshippers, assuring them that God would intervene swiftly.
