Dangote Refinery Adjusts Petrol Prices.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of petrol and diesel following recent changes in global crude oil prices. According to reports, the refinery lowered the price of petrol to about ₦1,075 per litre, while diesel dropped to roughly ₦1,430 per litre. The development is expected to provide some relief for fuel marketers and consumers across Nigeria who have faced rising energy costs in recent months.
Energy analysts say the price adjustment is linked to a sharp drop in global oil prices after signals that tensions in the Middle East could ease. The decline in crude prices has reduced pressure on fuel import costs and refinery production expenses, prompting local refiners and marketers to reconsider pricing.
Industry experts believe that continued fluctuations in global oil markets could lead to further adjustments in domestic fuel prices. They also note that increased local refining capacity, particularly from the Dangote refinery, may gradually stabilize Nigeria’s fuel supply and reduce dependence on imported petroleum products.
