Ekiti polls: Avoid bloodshed during campaign, Oyebanji tells party members.

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to conduct themselves responsibly during the party's campaign for the June 20 governorship election, warning against any form of bloodshed. Oyebanji made this appeal while receiving Henrich Akomolafe, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, who defected to the APC with over 1,000 followers.

The governor emphasized that all candidates in the election are Ekiti indigenes and should avoid conflict. He also expressed his target of securing 600,000 votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. The APC plans to begin its campaign after Ramadan and Lent, when Muslims and Christians have concluded their fasts.
