El-Rufai’s family replies ICPC on wiretapping, secret document.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) detained former Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai over alleged corruption during his tenure. The ICPC claimed to have found wiretapping equipment and secret documents at el-Rufai's Abuja residence, but el-Rufai's family denies this, saying the allegations are false and politically motivated.

El-Rufai's family argues that he has the right to remain silent and not cooperate with the ICPC's investigation. The ICPC says it's detaining el-Rufai to conclude its investigation into alleged corruption, including financial misconduct and procurement irregularities.

The case is ongoing, with el-Rufai seeking damages for alleged human rights violations. The ICPC maintains it has evidence, including documents from banks and government institutions, to support its allegations.
