Nearly 700,000 Displaced as Israel–Hezbollah Fighting Intensifies
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has entered its second week, leaving almost 700,000 people displaced in Lebanon, according to the United Nations. Thousands of families have fled their homes as airstrikes and rocket attacks continue across southern Lebanon and parts of Beirut.
Israeli forces have carried out large-scale air raids targeting Hezbollah positions, financial networks, and suspected weapons facilities. Lebanese authorities report hundreds of casualties, including women and children, while humanitarian agencies warn that displacement numbers could continue rising.
In response, Hezbollah fighters have launched missiles toward Israeli cities, including areas close to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The ongoing exchanges have heightened concerns that the conflict could expand into a broader regional war involving additional actors.
