Senator Lamido holds parallel APC Congress in Sokoto.
Senator Ibrahim Lamido has inaugurated newly elected APC local government chairmen in Sokoto State, amid concerns over parallel congresses and internal divisions within the party. The move follows a local government congress and has deepened factional lines, particularly with the mainstream faction led by Aliyu Wamakko.
Lamido stated the exercise was consensus-based, approved by the party's national leadership. He urged the officials to strengthen the party's grassroots structure and warned youths against political violence, citing security challenges in the region.
He also commended party leaders and acknowledged Honourable Kabiru Sarkin Fulani as incoming state chairman, reaffirming his commitment to transparency and accountability.
