Lagos Lawyer tackles hospital over wife’s death after childbirth

A Lagos-based lawyer, Justice John, has accused Gynescope Hospital of medical negligence following the death of his wife after she gave birth to their baby boy. According to him, his wife was registered for antenatal care at the hospital, where concerns were earlier raised about the baby’s size, but doctors proceeded with a vaginal delivery instead of a caesarean section.

He alleged that complications arose during delivery, including excessive bleeding after an episiotomy, and that a junior doctor handled critical procedures without adequate supervision. John claimed the hospital delayed referral despite her worsening condition, and she was later pronounced dead on arrival at another facility. He is now seeking justice, describing the loss as devastating, having been married for just about a year.

  British Nigerian boxer and former heavyweight champion,  Anthony Joshua   was involved in a road accident on Monday 29th December along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ogun State, Nigeria  Gbenga Omotosho, Lagos commissioner for information, said the crash occurred around the Shagamu interchange area of the highway. He added that the Lagos state government promptly deployed an ambulance to the scene. The Lexus SUV in which the British Nigerian boxer was said to have crashed into a stationary truck parked by the roadside. Two people driving with him in the car died on the spot according to eye witness. AJ was said to have survived with minor injuries.
