US Strikes: We Now Have A New Commander - In- Chief Of The Armed Forces In Trump , Not Tinubu - Okonkwo
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s handling of Nigeria’s security challenges, arguing that recent cooperation agreements with the United States amount to a surrender of sovereignty.
In an interview on, Okonkwo suggested that the arrangement has effectively transferred command authority over Nigeria’s security forces to foreign leadership.
“Let me tell you, there is nothing wrong in cooperating with anybody, any country, in order to solve security problems. But in this case, they are giving you the instructions,” Okonkwo began, before making a provocative claim about the implications of the security partnership.
“We now have a new commander-in-chief of the armed forces in President Trump, not Tinubu, because Tinubu has failed and he has admitted it because he allowed America to come in to do what he ought to do,” the ADC chieftain stated.
Okonkwo attributed what he described as Nigeria’s diminished autonomy to presidential incompetence. “I believe that due to the incompetence of Tinubu, America compelled Tinubu to do what he ought to have done,” he added.
