KWAM1’s daughter dismisses dating rumours with Asake
The speculation began after she posted a photo of herself with the singer at an event and captioned it, “Mr Money and Mrs Money.”
The post quickly sparked reactions online, with blogs suggesting the two were in a relationship.
However, on Sunday, Dami returned to her Instagram page to set the record straight, explaining that the photo was taken the first time she met the singer.
“Guys, that was my first time meeting him [Asake], so I took a picture. Do not believe blogs; they can do anything for traffic.
“And I am not a Media personality, I am a Legal practitioner, currently serving as SSA to Mr Gov… Address me well next time,” she wrote.
Asake, has kept his private life largely away from public attention. He is not publicly known to be in any romantic relationship since his reported breakup with his Gambian girlfriend, Madame Mystique, in 2014.
In 2024, a fan had questioned Mystique about the split, writing, “Why did you break our national sweetheart’s heart? Our Asake.”
She replied, “Cuz he wanted to go let the devil use him.”
Another follower criticised her for walking away instead of protecting him.
Responding, she clarified, “Chill, he’s very much a man [of] God. The devil is just a trickster nonetheless.”
In a separate development earlier in 2025, Asake was also in the news over a family dispute that played out publicly.
His baby mama, Adijat, had accused him of abandoning her and their daughter despite supporting him during his early struggles.
In March 2025, his father, Fatai Odunsi, a stroke survivor, also publicly alleged neglect, further fuelling backlash against the singer.
“I am the father to Asake who is singing. The last time I saw him was when this thing happened to me on March 29, 2022.
“He does not pick up my calls anytime I call him. Now I have become tired. I have been looking for this my brother and I recently met with him,” he said.
Following the criticism, Asake reached out to his father and pledged to take responsibility for his medical bills and provide him with a new home. A photograph of the singer with his father later surfaced online, suggesting a reconciliation.
Reports also indicated that he reunited with his daughter and her mother, marking what appeared to be a fresh start for the family after months of public tension.
A video posted on December 25, 2025 later captured the award-winning singer sharing a touching moment with his daughter, holding her close and kissing her on the cheek, as he smiled warmly in a simple black suit while Zeenat, dressed in an all-denim outfit, hugged him tightly, with Adijat standing nearby watching the father and daughter embrace.
