Atiku condemns burning of ADC office in Rivers, demands probe

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the burning of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ward office in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, describing the attack as a dangerous threat to Nigeria’s democratic process. The office was reportedly set ablaze by suspected political thugs on Thursday night, raising concerns about growing political violence in the state.

Reacting to the incident, Atiku warned that the attack reflects a troubling pattern in which opposition parties and their supporters are increasingly targeted. He said destroying political offices and intimidating opposition members undermines democratic principles and weakens political tolerance in the country

The former presidential candidate called for an independent investigation into the arson and urged security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible. He also asked the Federal Government to ensure the protection of opposition members and their property, stressing that failure to act decisively could encourage further violence against political groups.
