UN Peacekeepers Injured in Lebanon Missile Attack
Several United Nations peacekeepers from Ghana were injured after missiles struck their base in southern Lebanon during the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. The attack damaged buildings at the base and left at least two soldiers critically wounded.
The peacekeepers are part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), a mission tasked with monitoring the ceasefire along the Israel–Lebanon border. Ghana’s government has called for an international investigation into the attack and demanded accountability.
United Nations officials condemned the strike, stressing that peacekeepers must never be targeted in armed conflicts. The incident has further highlighted the dangers facing international troops deployed in volatile region
