A FAITHFUL SOWER.
a small village surrounded by wide fields lived a hardworking farmer named Obi. Every planting season, Obi would wake up early in the morning, carry a bag full of seeds, and walk to his farmland.
One bright morning, he began to sow his seeds carefully across the field.
As he scattered the seeds, some fell by the roadside. Birds quickly flew down and ate them before they had the chance to grow.
Some seeds fell on rocky ground. They sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow, but when the hot sun came out, the plants withered away because they had no deep roots.
Other seeds fell among thorns and weeds. As they grew, the weeds crowded them and choked the young plants until they could not produce any crops.
But some seeds fell on good, rich soil. Those seeds took root, grew strong, and produced a great harvest—far more than Obi had planted.
At the end of the season, Obi looked over his field. Even though many seeds had been lost, the ones that fell on good soil had multiplied greatly and filled his barn with food.
Obi smiled and said to his son,
“Life is like these seeds. The words we hear and the lessons we learn are like seeds. Some people ignore them, some forget them quickly, and some let problems choke them. But those who keep the lessons in their hearts will grow and succeed.”
And from that day, his son understood the wisdom of the sower and the seeds.
