The sun had barely risen in the forest when Tortoise slowly dragged himself along the dusty path. “Ah… another long day,” he muttered. “Slow legs, big heart… that’s all I have.” Suddenly, a frantic voice echoed from above. “Help! Somebody help me, please!” Tortoise looked up. A Squirrel was trapped between two tight branches, her tiny body shaking. “My leg… it’s stuck! I can’t move!” she cried. Tortoise blinked slowly. “Hmm… don’t worry, little one. I may be slow, but I don’t ignore cries for help.” Squirrel looked down, desperate. “You? But… you’re so slow! By the time you reach me—” “Kindness doesn’t race,” Tortoise interrupted gently. “It arrives.” Step by step… inch by inch… Tortoise climbed the small mound beneath the tree. It took time. Sweat rolled down his wrinkled face. “Please hurry!” Squirrel whimpered. “I’m coming… just hold on,” Tortoise said calmly. Finally, he reached the branches.
