American City Erased From The Map-Vanished From Earth!
In American history, few stories are as shocking—and as hidden—as the destruction of Greenwood District, famously known as Black Wall Street. Once one of the wealthiest Black communities in the United States, Greenwood was a thriving city-within-a-city, filled with banks, hotels, newspapers, schools, and successful businesses.
In 1921, following a false accusation, white mobs attacked the district in Tulsa, burning homes, looting businesses, and killing hundreds of residents. Private airplanes were reportedly used to drop firebombs, reducing the prosperous community to ashes within hours.
What makes the tragedy even more disturbing is what followed: decades of silence. Greenwood was removed from textbooks, police records vanished, insurance claims were denied, and survivors were threatened into silence. For nearly a century, many Americans never heard of the city that was erased from the map.
Today, Greenwood stands as a powerful reminder that history can be buried—but never truly destroyed.
