Global Energy Emergency as Oil Supply Drops
The International Energy Agency (IEA) has warned of the largest oil supply disruption in modern history due to the Middle East conflict. Global oil supply has dropped significantly, with millions of barrels per day affected by the shutdown of key production and shipping routes.
In response, the IEA has begun releasing hundreds of millions of barrels from emergency reserves to stabilize the market. This is the largest coordinated release of oil reserves ever recorded, highlighting the severity of the crisis. However, officials warn that these measures may only provide temporary relief.
Energy experts say recovery could take months or even years, depending on how quickly the conflict is resolved. The crisis has exposed vulnerabilities in global energy systems and increased calls for diversification into renewable energy sources to reduce dependence on unstable regions.
