Trump Calls for Help to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on several countries to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global shipping route disrupted by the escalating war between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Trump said he had asked about seven nations to send warships to help secure the waterway and protect commercial vessels from Iranian attacks.

The strait is one of the most important oil transit routes in the world, carrying roughly 20% of global oil shipments every day. Because of the conflict and recent missile and drone attacks in the Persian Gulf, shipping traffic has slowed dramatically and oil prices have surged above $100 per barrel, raising fears of a global energy crisis.

Trump has reportedly contacted countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, and China to join a coalition aimed at securing the sea route. However, some nations have been cautious about getting involved. Australia and Japan have already said they currently have no plans to send warships to the region, while the European Union is still considering possible naval missions.

The tension comes after U.S. airstrikes on Kharg Island, where American forces targeted Iranian military facilities believed to be involved in blocking shipping in the Persian Gulf. Iran has continued launching drone and missile attacks across the region, including strikes near airports and Gulf cities, further escalating the conflict.

Experts warn that if the Strait of Hormuz remains unsafe or closed for a long time, it could lead to major disruptions in global oil supply, higher fuel prices worldwide, and economic pressure on many countries that depend on Middle Eastern oil exports.
