THE KING OF THE JUNGLE.
In the heart of the great Emerald Jungle lived animals of every kind — swift deer, clever monkeys, colorful parrots, giant elephants, and fierce wild cats. Though the jungle was beautiful, the animals constantly argued.
The monkeys stole fruit from smaller animals. The hyenas bullied everyone near the watering hole. Even the birds fought over trees.
At the center of the jungle stood Pride Rock, where Leo the lion ruled as king.
Leo was strong, but what truly made him respected was his wisdom. He never roared without reason, and he protected even the weakest creatures.
One dry season, the rivers began shrinking. Food became scarce, and tensions grew worse. A cruel leopard named Zaru saw an opportunity.
“The lion is getting old,” Zaru whispered to the animals. “Why should we share water? The strong should take what they want.”
Some animals agreed out of fear.
Soon chaos spread across the jungle. The zebras guarded the riverbanks. The monkeys threw coconuts at anyone who came near their trees. Fights broke out every day.
Leo watched quietly from Pride Rock.
One evening, a tiny rabbit named Miko approached him.
“Your Majesty,” she said softly, “the jungle is falling apart.”
Leo nodded sadly. “A king cannot force peace with claws alone.”
The next morning, Leo called every animal to the Great Clearing. Even Zaru came, smirking confidently.
Without saying a word, Leo led them to the last remaining river. There, the animals saw something shocking — the water was almost gone.
“If we continue fighting,” Leo said calmly, “there will be nothing left for any of us.”
Zaru stepped forward. “Then the strong should survive.”
Before anyone could respond, loud cracking echoed through the jungle. A herd of frightened elephants burst into the clearing.
“Fire!” they trumpeted.
Flames were spreading rapidly through the dry forest.
Panic erupted. Birds screeched into the sky while animals ran in every direction.
But Leo stood firm.
“Listen to me!” he roared.
His voice thundered across the jungle.
“The elephants will carry water! The monkeys will clear branches! The birds will guide the young animals to safety!”
For a moment, nobody moved.
Then little Miko the rabbit began carrying tiny leaves of water. Seeing her bravery, others joined in. Soon every creature worked together.
Even Zaru helped pull trapped animals from burning trees.
By nightfall, the fire was finally defeated.
Exhausted animals gathered beside the river as cool rain began to fall from the sky.
Leo looked around proudly.
“Today,” he said, “the jungle was not saved by strength alone. It was saved because we stood together.”
Zaru lowered his head in shame.
From that day on, the animals understood why Leo was king. It was not because he was the strongest hunter, but because he protected the entire jungle — from the mighty elephant to the smallest rabbit.
And deep within the Emerald Jungle, peace finally returned.
