Here are key steps you can take to stay safe:
1. Verify Before You Act
If someone contacts you asking for payments, financial info, or passwords:
Call the person back on a number you know is real.
Check the company’s official website — don’t follow links in messages.

2. Use Strong Authentication
Turn on two‑factor authentication (2FA) for email, banking, and social accounts. This means even if someone guesses or steals your password, they can’t get in easily.

3. Watch for Red Flags
Be cautious if:
A message creates urgency (“Pay now or lose your account!”).
There are spelling or grammar mistakes.
The sender’s address looks slightly off (e.g., support‑bank.com instead of the real bank).

4. Keep Software Updated
Scammers exploit old, unpatched software. Updating your phone and apps regularly adds a layer of protection.

5. Learn and Share
Awareness is one of the strongest defenses. If a friend or family member isn’t online often, help them understand common scams
