Nigerian gospel singer Taiwo Adegbodu, one-half of the renowned Adegbodu Twins, has passed away. 

The news was announced on Sunday, March 1, 2026, via the duo's official Facebook page, with his twin brother Kehinde expressing deep grief. Taiwo and Kehinde rose to fame in 1999 with their debut album "Faratimi (Lean on Me)" and were known for blending traditional Yoruba sounds with contemporary gospel music. Some of their popular tracks include "Shower Your Blessing", "God Concert", and "Emi Mimo". 

The Adegbodu Twins were appointed as Special Advisers on Entertainment and Tourism by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, recognizing their contributions to gospel music and entertainment. Taiwo's death has sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow gospel artistes, including Esther Igbekele, who paid tribute on Instagram.
