THE STAR.

The Boy Who Followed the Star

Long ago, in a quiet village surrounded by dark forests and tall mountains, there lived a poor boy named Elian. Every night, while others slept, Elian climbed the hill behind his village and stared at the brightest star in the sky.

The villagers laughed at him.

“That star won’t feed you,” they said.
“It won’t make you rich.”
“Dreams are for fools.”

But Elian kept returning to the hill.

One winter night, the star shone brighter than ever before. As Elian watched, a silver light fell from the sky and landed deep inside the forbidden forest. Though frightened, he decided to follow it.

The forest was filled with dangers—howling wolves, icy rivers, and twisting paths that seemed to move on their own. Many times Elian wanted to turn back, but whenever he looked up, the star appeared again between the trees, guiding him forward.

After hours of walking, he reached a hidden valley no one had ever seen. In its center stood a giant tree with glowing golden fruit. Beside it was an old woman wrapped in a cloak of feathers.

“You followed the star,” she said softly. “Most people only admire light from afar. Few are brave enough to chase it.”

The woman explained that the valley had once blessed the kingdom with peace and prosperity, but greed had caused people to forget it. The star only appeared to those with courage and hope.

She gave Elian one golden fruit.

“When your village loses hope, plant this.”

Elian returned home. At first, no one believed his story. But when famine struck the village months later, Elian planted the fruit in the center of the town.

By sunrise, a magnificent tree had grown, heavy with glowing fruit that never ran out. The starving villagers were saved.

From that day on, the people no longer mocked Elian. Instead, they climbed the hill beside him at night, searching the sky for their own guiding stars.

And Elian learned something important:

Not every star is meant to be wished upon.
Some are meant to be followed.
