ABRAHAM'S GREATEST TEST:Faith On Mount Moriah.
Long ago, there lived a man named Abraham who loved God deeply. God had promised him that he would become the father of a great nation. After many years of waiting, Abraham and his wife Sarah were blessed with a son named Isaac. Isaac was the child of God's promise, and Abraham treasured him more than anything.
One day, God tested Abraham's faith. He told Abraham to take Isaac to the land of Moriah and offer him as a sacrifice. Though heartbroken and confused, Abraham trusted that God had a good reason and would keep His promises.
Early the next morning, Abraham, Isaac, and two servants began the journey. When they reached the mountain, Abraham told the servants to wait while he and Isaac went ahead to worship. Isaac carried the wood for the sacrifice and asked, "Father, we have the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the offering?"
Abraham replied with confidence, "God Himself will provide the lamb."
When they reached the place God had shown him, Abraham built an altar and prepared the sacrifice. Just as he was about to obey God's command, an angel of the Lord called from heaven, "Abraham! Abraham! Do not lay a hand on the boy. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld your only son from Me."
Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a nearby bush. He offered the ram instead of Isaac, just as God had provided.
Because of Abraham's unwavering faith and obedience, God renewed His promise, saying that Abraham's descendants would become as numerous as the stars in the sky and that all nations of the earth would be blessed through his family.
Lesson
The story teaches that genuine faith means trusting God even when we do not fully understand His plans. It also reminds us that God is faithful, provides what we need at the right time, and honors those who trust Him wholeheartedly.
