RE: COMMENDATION ON SOKOTO STRIKE AND URGENT APPEAL FOR EXPANDED GROUND OPERATIONS AGAINST TERRORISM IN NIGERIA

Your Excellency,
I write to you today as General Asabuja, representing the voice of millions of concerned Nigerians, to formally express our profound gratitude for the decisive military intervention launched by the United States forces against terrorist elements in Sokoto State. The news of this strike has brought a glimmer of hope to a nation that has long bled under the tyranny of extremism.

We commend your administration for keeping its promise to protect the vulnerable. The targeted neutralization of these insurgents sends a powerful message: the world is watching, and the persecution of Christians and innocent citizens by ISWAP, bandits, and armed Fulani herdsmen will no longer be tolerated.

However, Mr. President, while the strike in Sokoto is a victory, the war is far from over. The enemies of peace have embedded themselves deep within the forests and bushes of our nation, specifically terrorizing states such as Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, and Borno, in addition to Sokoto. They use these ungoverned spaces as launchpads for kidnapping and massacres.

Therefore, we urge the United States to not stop at airstrikes. We appeal for the deployment of specialized ground support and modern surveillance technology to collaborate with the Nigerian military. We need a systematic "sweeping of the bushes" across all 36 states to flush out these criminal elements who use our forests as safe havens.

I must also address the skeptics and detractors spreading false narratives that US intervention is a pretext for stealing Nigeria’s natural resources.
I state clearly to my fellow Nigerians and the world: This is the modern digital age. The eyes of the internet are everywhere, and global transparency makes the covert theft of resources impossible in this century. This intervention is not about exploitation; it is about the preservation of human life and the restoration of sanity to our region.
We trust that under your leadership, and in collaboration with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, modern technology and boots on the ground will be employed to eradicate this evil once and for all.
Thank you for standing with Nigeria.

Sincerely,
General Asabuja
