If That Girl Was Our Child,The News You’ll Be Hearing Now Is That We’re Fighting For Custody—Adedeji Adeleke
LAGOS — Adedeji Adeleke, President of Adeleke University and CEO of Pacific Holdings Limited, has confirmed that multiple DNA tests linked to a paternity claim involving his son, Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, have consistently produced the same results.
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Adeleke addressed the ongoing public discussions and social media speculation surrounding the case.
He revealed that although the family has conducted several tests, the outcomes have remained unchanged, and that further testing is being considered more for confirmation than to satisfy public curiosity. “We’ve done several and getting the same result,” he said. “So doing another one.”
Adeleke noted that online calls for repeated testing continue to grow, even though the family believes the matter has already been resolved. “I saw it on social media. I’m not very active there, but I watch YouTube and some of these things,” he explained.
He added that he has seen recurring messages urging his son to conduct additional tests, but insisted that repeating the process would not alter the outcome. “Even if you do it ten times, it doesn’t matter. It matters,” he said.
He emphasized that the decision to carry out DNA testing was driven solely by the family’s desire for certainty, not by external pressure. “We are not doing it to satisfy the public. We are doing it to satisfy ourselves,” Adeleke said. “If it’s our child, we claim the child.”
Adeleke also stated that if the results had been different, the family would have acted decisively to assert custody, and media narratives would have focused on the child’s relationship with the family rather than questions about paternity.
