US President Donald Trump has confirmed a military operation against Iran, stating it's aimed at preventing the country from developing nuclear weapons. The operation involves strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, missile launchers, and military infrastructure. Trump cited Iran's history of aggression, including backing militant groups like Hamas, and threats to the US, its troops, and allies.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the strike as a move to "remove threats against the State of Israel". The US and Israel have coordinated their efforts, with Israel launching pre-emptive strikes on Iran's strategic sites.

Trump warned Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to lay down arms or face "certain death". He emphasized the US objective is to defend Americans and eliminate imminent threats from Iran's regime, describing it as "vicious" and "terrible".

The operation follows weeks of tensions and negotiations between the US and Iran over Tehran's nuclear program. Iran denies seeking nuclear weapons, claiming its program is for peaceful purposes.

  British Nigerian boxer and former heavyweight champion,  Anthony Joshua   was involved in a road accident on Monday 29th December along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ogun State, Nigeria  Gbenga Omotosho, Lagos commissioner for information, said the crash occurred around the Shagamu interchange area of the highway. He added that the Lagos state government promptly deployed an ambulance to the scene. The Lexus SUV in which the British Nigerian boxer was said to have crashed into a stationary truck parked by the roadside. Two people driving with him in the car died on the spot according to eye witness. AJ was said to have survived with minor injuries.
