A GOOD COMPANY.
In a small village, there lived two boys named Tunde and Chika. They were neighbors and attended the same school.
Tunde was hardworking and respectful. He spent time with friends who loved learning, helped others, and stayed away from trouble. Chika, however, began spending time with a group of boys who enjoyed mocking people, skipping classes, and causing mischief.
At first, Chika only watched their behavior. Soon, he started copying them. His grades dropped, and he often found himself in trouble.
One day, the village chief announced a scholarship competition for students.
Tunde and his friends studied together every evening, encouraging one another.
Chika wanted to join them, but he had spent so much time neglecting his studies that he struggled to catch up.
When the results were announced, Tunde won the scholarship. The chief congratulated him and said, “A tree grows in the direction it is guided. The people around you shape the person you become.”
Chika learned an important lesson. He left his troublesome group and began spending time with friends who inspired him to do better. Over time, his life improved.
From then on, both boys understood a valuable truth: good company leads to good character, wise choices, and a brighter future.
